St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens and St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia have received the American Heart Association’s 2023 Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for their commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
Chest Pain Center Accredited
St. Mary’s Hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center with PCI – the technical term for emergency balloon angioplasty and stent implantation for heart attack care – by the American College of Cardiology.
AHA Resuscitation Gold Award
St. Mary’s has received the American Heart Association 2023 Gold Award for cardiac resuscitation. The award recognizes our Athens hospital for continuously implementing the AHA’s Get With The Guidelines criteria for providing evidence-based care to patients who experience a heart attack while in the hospital.
