Marilyn Brown Nursing Scholarship

The Marilyn Brown Nursing Scholarship is available for St. Mary’s Health Care System colleagues seeking education and a career in the field of nursing.

Criteria:

1. Applicant is an employee of St. Mary's Health Care System.
2. Applicant is a full-time employee (minimally 0.5 FTE) for six (6) months or longer OR  
3. Applicant is a PRN colleague who has worked an average of 20 hours per week over the course of the past 12 months.  
4. Applicant attends a program in nursing at the LPN, Associate, Bachelor's, or Master's level that is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

Scholarship Terms:

• Five scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,500 each, which may be used over the course of multiple academic terms.
• Scholarship money will be used towards tuition and mandatory fees.

Timeline:

1. Complete online application by July 31, 2026.
2. The selection committee will review applications and name awardees by September 1, 2026.
3. Upon submission of required information and proof of enrollment by the recipient, scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational institution.  

Application Requirements:

• Personal statement – should not exceed 700 words total
• Scholarship request
• Work history
• Letter of recommendation

Incomplete applications are subject to exclusion from consideration.
