When You're Ready to Take the First Step, We’re Here
If you or someone you love is struggling with drug or alcohol use, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to face it without support. At St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital's Medical Detox Center, our New Vision service provides short-term inpatient medical stabilization to help adults aged 18 and older safely initiate their recovery journey.
Substance use disorder is a medical condition, not a moral failing. But withdrawal symptoms can be physically and emotionally overwhelming, sometimes even dangerous. Our team is here to help you take the first step safely, with expert care in a hospital setting.
What Is Medical Stabilization?
New Vision provides inpatient treatment for individuals who are in active or impending withdrawal from certain substances. During a typical 3–5 day hospital stay, you’ll receive:
- Pre-screening and assessment
- Admission to the hospital
- 24/7 medically supervised care
- Stabilization support
- Personalized discharge planning and next steps
When to Consider Medical Detox
If you’ve tried to stop using and found withdrawal symptoms too difficult, or if your health is at risk from ongoing substance use, it may be time to seek help. Medical detox is often recommended if you:
- Are using alcohol, opioids, or other substances regularly
- Have tried to quit and experienced serious symptoms
- Have other health concerns that make withdrawal more dangerous
- Need a safe, supportive place to begin recovery
Substances We Can Help With
New Vision provides hospital-based care for withdrawal from:
- Alcohol
- Opioids (like heroin, OxyContin, or fentanyl)
- Benzodiazepines (such as Valium or Xanax)
- Cocaine
- Methamphetamine
- Prescription medications
- Combinations of substances
