St. Mary's Health Care System is proud to present our speaker series: Coffee & Conversations, where we offer opportunities to learn about your health, and the newest advances in medical technology, and offer you the chance to ask specialists questions in person, for free.

Come learn how a simple CT angiography/calcium exam can reveal lesions inside your heart’s blood vessels that could lead to a heart attack. The exam takes minutes and is faster, more accurate and more comfortable than a stress test and less invasive and less expensive than a cardiac catheterization study. Join us to learn more!

About Your Speaker, Cardiac Specialist Dr. Erick Avelar 

Dr. Avelar is a board-certified cardiologist, Level 3 Cardiac Imaging Reader, and Medical Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St. Mary’s Hospital. He served as the local lead researcher for the CREDENCE cardiac imaging trial coordinated by Weill Cornell Medical College, New York.
