Infusion Therapy at ArriVe: What to Expect from Your First Visit
September 30, 2025Starting infusion therapy can feel like a big step, but knowing what to expect helps ease nerves and ensures your experience is as comfortable and smooth as possible. At ArriVe Infusion Therapy, our caring team is dedicated to guiding you through every stage from check-in to the final dose with compassion and expertise.
Here’s what your first visit will look like and how to prepare.
Before Your Appointment: How to Get Ready
- Bring your ID and insurance card: To make check-in quick and hassle-free.
- List your current medications: Including any over-the-counter supplements or vitamins.
- Wear comfortable clothing: Loose sleeves or clothing that allows easy access to your arm.
- Arrange transportation: You may want someone to drive you, especially if your medication or condition affects your energy.
- Hydrate and eat a light meal: Unless your provider gives other instructions, it’s helpful to be well-hydrated and not come on an empty stomach.
Check-In and Initial Assessment
Upon arrival at ArriVe Infusion Therapy:
- Our friendly staff will greet you and complete the registration paperwork if it has not been done in advance.
- Our team will verify your identity and confirm the treatment you are scheduled to receive.
- A nurse will review your medical history, current health status, and any allergies.
- Your vital signs, like blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, will be checked.
- The care team will answer any questions you have and explain the treatment plan.
During Your Infusion
- You’ll be seated comfortably in one of nine private treatment rooms designed for relaxation.
- A nurse will insert an IV line, usually in your arm, to deliver your medication directly into your bloodstream.
- Infusion times vary depending on your treatment, ranging from 30 minutes to several hours.
- You can bring a book, tablet, smartphone, or headphones to help pass the time. We also provide a TV with dozens of channels you can watch.
- Nurses will monitor you closely for any reactions and ensure your comfort throughout.
After Your Infusion
- Once the infusion is complete, the IV will be removed, and your nurse will check your site for any irritation.
- You may be asked to stay for a brief observation period to ensure there are no delayed reactions.
- Our team will provide any post-treatment care instructions and discuss your next appointment.
- If you experience any side effects after leaving, you’ll have access to our care team for support.
