The Marilyn Brown Nursing Scholarship Application
The Marilyn Brown Nursing Scholarship Fund awards $2,500 in financial assistance to St. Mary's Health Care System colleagues who have been accepted into a nursing program of study, either entering the nursing field or pursuing a higher level of nursing education. The scholarship was inspired by the donor's experience with St. Mary's nurses who care for the whole person with skill, tenderness, and reverence.
Scholarship Terms:
- To be eligible, the applicant must be employed by St. Mary's Health Care System and working full-time (minimally 0.5 FTE) for six (6) months or longer.
- Scholarships will be awarded for the amount of $2,500, which may be used over the course of multiple academic terms, to attend a program in nursing at the LPN, Associate, Bachelors or Masters level that is accredited by the American Association of Colleges and Nursing (AACN).
- Scholarship money will be used towards tuition and mandatory fees and will be paid directly to the educational institution upon receipt of proof of enrollment by the recipient.
- PRN colleagues are eligible if the applicant has worked an average of 20 hours per week over the course of the past 12 months. Department leader will need to confirm the applicant's hours worked.
