Our Pediatric Therapy Services

We know no two children are alike. That’s why our therapists tailor every session to your child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.

Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)

Helping Children Communicate, Connect, and Grow

Our speech-language pathologists support children in developing clear communication, strong language skills, and safe, effective feeding.

Our team can help address issues with:

When a child has difficulty producing sounds clearly (like "wabbit" for "rabbit"), we work on articulation, phonological patterns, and motor planning.

Example: A child with Childhood Apraxia of Speech may work on building the motor coordination needed to produce multisyllabic words like “banana.”

We support children who struggle to understand language (receptive) or express themselves (expressive).

Example: A preschooler who speaks in short, two-word phrases may benefit from language expansion techniques.

Helping children with autism or other developmental conditions learn to take turns, ask questions, and read social cues.

Example: Therapy might include role-playing and games to practice conversation skills.

Gentle, supportive therapy for children who experience breaks in speech flow. We focus on communication, confidence, and ease.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Why Families Trust St. Mary’s for Pediatric Therapy

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Helping Children Play, Learn, and Be Independent

Our occupational therapists help kids build the skills they need for everyday life—from brushing teeth to handwriting to handling big feelings.

We can help your child with the development of:

Improving hand strength, dexterity, and coordination.

Example: A child may practice grasping small items or using scissors to support school readiness.

Supporting tasks like dressing, feeding, and toileting.

Example: Teaching a child with low muscle tone how to put on socks and shoes with minimal help.

Helping kids who are overwhelmed by certain textures, sounds, or movements, or who seek out intense input.

Example: A child might swing in a therapy room to help their body feel “just right” for learning.

Building the skills needed for classroom tasks like copying from the board or forming letters correctly.

Helping kids recognize emotions, cope with frustration, and build confidence.

Physical Therapy (PT)

Helping Children Move with Strength, Balance, and Confidence

Our physical therapists help children improve large motor skills like sitting, standing, walking, and jumping—so they can participate fully in play, school, and family life.

At our clinic, we address issues with:

Support for babies and toddlers who aren’t meeting movement milestones.

Example: A child who isn’t walking by 18 months might work on core strength and balance.

Recovery and strengthening after injury or surgery.

Example: Rehab for a child who fractured a leg during a sports activity.

Head tilt or flat spots in infants, often treated through stretching, positioning, and play-based activities.

Helping kids who seem clumsy or have trouble navigating stairs or playground equipment.

Therapy for children with conditions like Cerebral Palsy or Muscular Dystrophy to improve mobility and quality of life.
